Worker Bees or Warrior Ants

YouTube is a beehive of activity all the time. It’s not surprising that tempers flare and much unnecessary so -called “colorful” language fills the comments.

Speaking of beehives, I posted a comment about a verse in the Qur’an related to ants. Ants and bees are communities, similar to human communities, (also very different in many ways), with communications, armies, food distribution, laborers, nurses, even a Queen. (read diamondraw in reply to logenath123)

I wanted to speak about the miracle in the Qur’an that is a verse about one of the species of insects - the bees, which one particular verse I was trying to remember was about. (revised)

There are verses, which if studied, often lead to amazing discoveries of the smallest minutiae; which in light of science is evidence pointing to the One true God, Allah, the Creator and Sustainer of the entire cosmos.

I n the Chapter, The Ants (an-Naml) is the story of Suleiman; He was leading his army, and the ants feared them. One of the ants said,”Oh ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not.” (Ch. 27, v.18) In the next verse, “So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech…” (It was the ant Queen, which had addressed the ants, warning them, and ordering them to go into their dwellings.)
So, one skeptic of the Qur’an thought, this is indeed a mistake in the Qur’an. He was a scientist. He determined straightway to show that the Qur’an had a mistake, because Muhammad, SAWS, couldn’t have known about tiny ants, 1430 years ago, before the invention of the most powerful microscopes (we have today).

The scientist viewed an ant’s body under the microscope. But he was shocked! He learned by examination (scientific method) that ants bodies are like crystal, or like glass, and therefore can literally, be “crushed”, not “squished”, as he had imagined. This man became Muslim.

Dr. Moore, an expert in embryology, didn’t become Muslim after examining the Qur’an, but he admitted that it is from “God”. He said, he will never leave his Christian faith, but nevertheless, speaks in engagements where he is invited to witness to the truthfulness of the verses in the Qur’an about embryology. (For more examples of converted Scientists, read "This is the Truth", or google me for comments, I also have a channel on You Tube. - revised)

I apologize for my lapses in memory. Sometimes, due to time restraints, I sometimes post something without checking only later to regret it. (I said something in a comment about ants in the story, which was about bees, in Surah an-Nahl.) It was a lapse, like I said.

While the story about Suleiman sheds no light on the female ants’ role, the verse about the bees does. It was a specific verse in the Chapter, The Bee, which follows, that amazed me as a new Muslim and gave me more conviction, as I began a closer study of Islam. I hadn’t converted merely based on particular scientific evidence, but I had done my homework about Islam, including on some scientific points.

What really led to my conversion? It was one of the final three chapters of the Qur’an which is short but very powerful (Qur’an, Ch. 112, v.1-4)

Surah al-Ikhlas (Purification)

“Say, ‘He is Allah, who is One,

Allah, the Eternal Refuge

He neither begets nor is born

Nor is there to Him any equivalent.’”
(The Qur’an)

God Is ONE

I thought, it is so obvious; One God is the Creator of everything, needing no partner, needing no one, needing nothing. Yet, we become slaves to other than Him, May He be Praised. It was only Islam, no other religion, which states this clearly and unequivocally, in the simplest words. There is no misunderstanding the Qur’an or that Muslims worship other than the Creator. There is no God but Allah (who is worthy of our worship and submission), recite the Muslims. It is their testimony of faith. And Muhammad is His Messenger. So we follow his teachings. That is Islam, very easy to understand.

I am shocked by people who continue to say completely untrue and shameful things when they know nothing about Islam. They misinterpret everything and deny what little information they have of value, instead of making a sound judgment. You can’t make the deaf hear, or the blind see, in fact, Allah will not guide such people.

Chapter 16 – The Bees (an-Nahl)

 Ch 16: V 68-69

“And your Lord inspired to the bee, “Take for yourself among the mountains, houses [i.e. hives], and among the trees and [in] that which they construct” (The Qur’an)

Allah uses the feminine form for these bees, the worker bees, which build the hives. Zakir Naik tells us that when Shakespeare wrote about the bees, he made their leader a King and the worker bees, he made males. (See Shakespeare’s King Bee). This is expected, of a human being, but Allah knows about the minutest details, some facts you can even read in the Qur’an. In reality the worker bees ‘gender is female, and the leader is also female. Male bees are drones and mere followers whose higher purpose is to impregnate the Queen.
